named as son of Walter and Rohaise by his son in 1212 [Ref: Hansen Wodhull p10]

1173: took part in the battle at Fornham when his father, as well as the Earl of Leicester and his countess, were captured [Ref: Hansen Wodhull p10]

1175/6: apparently had succeeded his father in the barony, when he was amerced 100 pounds for forest respass, of which he paid 50 pounds into the treasury and was recorded as owing the rest [Ref: Hansen Wodhull p10]

Dec 1189: witnessed a royal confirmation to the monastery of Peterborough [Ref: Hansen Wodhull p10]

1190: paid 7 pounds of his assessment of 13 pounds 10s for the scutage of Wales, at which time he was on a crusade [Ref: Hansen Wodhull p10]

fell into the sea at Acre in 1192 or 1192 and was drowned. His vassal Bartholomew, son of Hugh de Lega, seems to have accompanied him on the crusade [Ref: Hansen Wodhull p10]
