Mich 1209: described as Nicholas son of Nicholas de Stuteville, owed 20 marks that twelve knights of Ryedale and Pickeringlythe should make perambulation between the king's forest and his [Ref: Farrer EYC v9p18]

1215: leased Liddel Strength to Eustace, son of Robert d.1213 his brother; on death of Eustace, Liddel Strength went to Joan, daughter and heir of Nicholas [Ref: Sanders Baronies p129]

after the death of his father he appears to have administered the inheritance of his nephew Eustace; and in several references he is named as his father's heir [Ref: Farrer EYC v9p19]

30 Mar 1218: Sheriff of Warwickshire was ordered to give him seisin of the manor of Brinklow, which Eustace de Stuteville had held, as the latter oly had the land by the bail of Nicholas de Stuteville, Nicholas's father, and the land fell to Nicholas the son by inheritance [Ref: Farrer EYC v9p19]

1220: witnessed a charter of William de Mowbray in favor of Fountain abbey [Ref: Farrer EYC v9p19]

4 Feb 1232/3: one of four appointed as justices to deliver the goal of York [Ref: Farrer EYC v9p20]

8 Sep 1233: ordered to restore hte land which had belonged to Eustace de Stuteville, his uncle, to Robert son and heir of Eustace, who should become the man of Nicholas, notwithstanding that Robert was born and brought up overseas [Ref: Farrer EYC v9p20]

entered the priory of St Andrew, York, where he died [Ref: Farrer EYC v9p20]

heir was his nephew Eustace, son of Robert, elder brother of Nicholas [Ref: Sanders Baronies p37]
