Research Notes:
great-great-granddaughter of John I of Ponthieu (along with Queen Eleanor);
Mary was great-granddaughter of Enguerran de Picquigny, vidame of Amiens
(d.1224) & Margaret daughter of John I. Identification made possible because
the wardrobe clerk of Queen Eleanor referred to her as the "domicilla de
Pynkeny" [Ref: John Carmi Parsons SGM 8/30/1998]
one of a group of four "damsels" of the chamber who appear frequently
throughout Queen Eleanor's wardrobe account book for 1289-90, and described as
kinswomen of the queen [Ref: CP++ Saint Amand 7/13/2004 (CP XI p298)]
10 Aug 1289: arrived at court, accompanied by John de Pecqigny (who did
not leave until Feb 1289/90) [Ref: CP++ Saint Amand 7/13/2004 (CP XI p298)]
11 Jul 1304: presented to the church of Westwydehaye "in the name of Sir
Amaury her husband" [Ref: Douglas Richardson SGM 8/11/2002-205939]
