primary sources explicitely identifies as Mamikonian [Ref: Settipani LGA p38]

known mainy by writings of epic writer Hov'annes Mamikonian. Relationship between Moushehg and Vahan is not clearly defined - just as relative. But the fuedal system of heriditary principles, and the speeches attributed to him by Hov'annes, make it likely Vahan was son of Moushegh [Ref: Settipani LGA p47]

traditionally reserve title of "Prince of Taron" to the epic heroes of Hov'annes, although in reality, all the Mamikonian chiefs have carried this heriditary title [Ref: Settipani LGA p47]
