Research Notes:
after the exile of Vardan III and his family to Byzance, the title of "family chief" passed to Moushegh, so he was the nearest relative of Vardan III. Vardan III son of Vasak son of Vard; Moushegh son of Hmayeak; therefore assumed Hmayeak also son of Vard, making Vardan III and Moushegh first cousins [Ref: Settipani LGA p43]
