1405: Alexander Champernoun and Joan, his wife, and the heirs of Joan's sisters, sued for the manors of Beer Ferrers, Newton Ferrers and other lands in Devon and Cornwall (De Banco Plea Rolls, Easter Term, 6 Hen IV, m. 308). [Ref: Ronny Bodine SGM 1/30/1999]

Feb 1416/7: Alexander Champernoun, esq., Sir John Cornwall, and Thomas Bonville, esq. presented to Beer Ferrers. [Ref: Ronny Bodine SGM 1/30/1999]

1418: John Cornwall, Knt., sued Alexander Champernoun, armiger, for the next presentation to the church of Newton Ferrers (De Banco Plea Rolls, Hillary Term, 6 Hen. V, m. 415). Cornwall lost and in Feb 1418/9, Alexander alone presented to Newton Ferrers (Stafford, p. 145, 149). [Ref: Ronny Bodine SGM 1/30/1999]

1422: According to the IPM of his cousin, Otho Champernoun, he was aged 40 or more and the son of Richard, son of Thomas, thus was born in or before 1382. [Ref: Ronny Bodine SGM 1/30/1999]

He unsuccessfully disputed the claim of his nephew, Richard, to succeed, despite showing that his father had devised Ashton Rohant to the younger Richard and the heirs of his body (VCH, Oxford, 8: 21). [Ref: Ronny Bodine SGM 1/30/1999]
