According to a list of counts of Macon appearing in the cartulary of Saint-Vincent de Macon, Aubry was originally from Narbonne, married the daughter of viscount Raculf of Macon, and made himself count of Macon after the death of bishop Berno of Macon. [Ref: HenryII aubri001 4/24/2008]
