---------- obituary, from Claysville Recorder, May 17, 1929:
John Cecil Danley, farmer, native and lifelong resident of East Finley township, died at his home about 11:30 p. m. Monday, May 13, 1929, aged 33 years, four months and 27 days. He had suffered an attack of influenza last January and about the last of February organic heart trouble developed, these being the primary and contributory causes of death. The funeral service was held at his late home Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. John Winwood. Burial was in the family lot in Claysville cemetery.
Mr. Danley was born December 15, 1895, son of Martin and Mary Wolf Danley. He was united in marriage with Miss Nellie Wood, who is bereft with four children, the youngest quite small - Cecil, Paul, Mary and Ruth Danley. The taking of the father is a sore bereavement for the family and the community extends sincere sympathy. He also leaves four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Emma Martin McConnell, Miss Naomi C. Danley, Miss Myrtle L. Danley and Add Danley. Mr. Danley was a member of Fairmount United Brethren church. [Ref: Carol Loar 6/1/2002]
