known to be son of Pinudjem I. Mother was probably Pinudjem's chief wife

assumed priesthood in year 25 of Nesibanebdjedet I, and immediatelhy
proceeded souithward to Thebes to pacify the land and suppress his enemy,
as recorded on a stela in the Louvre [Ref: Dodson Egypt p207]
also recorded on the stela, a number of those people implicated in the
troubles were exiled to the western oases, to be recalled a few years
later [Ref: Dodson Egypt p207]
undertook building work at the fortress of El-Hiba, as well as building
other forts further south [Ref: Dodson Egypt p207]
on occasion used a cartouche, and is shown wearing a kingly kilt on a
statuette in Rio de Janeiro, but he seems not to have made any
substantive claim to kingship [Ref: Dodson Egypt p207]
Menkheperre's pontificate lasted for some 50 years, running in parallel
with the reign of his brother, Pasebkhanut I [Ref: Dodson Egypt p207]
