served as High Priest at Karnak for much of his father's reign [Ref: Dodson Egypt p221]

produced two statues, one of himself (Cairo) and of the Inundation (British Museum), and reinscribed a very find late 18-th Dynasty human figure (Cairo). On the second of these he uses a cartouche, and is generally equated with the King Heqakheperre Shoshenq who was ultimately reburied in tomb NRT111 at Tanis [Ref: Dodson Egypt p221]

interestingly none of Shoshenq II's descendants call him 'king', suggesting that his assumption of kingly titles was brief in theextreme and while his father still lived [Ref: Dodson Egypt p221]
