Research Notes:
moved from Brewster to Centerville (then called Chequaquet) as a lad and made his home with Jesse Lewis [Ref: CrosbyAH CROSBY p13]

some have claimed that he was the son of Ebenezer Crosby 2nd, of Yarmouth, MA, and grandson of Ebenezer Crosby who was born 28 Mar 1675. This may be discounted by the fact that Ebenezer Crosby 2nd married Mehitable Baker on 10 Jan 1734, two years after the birth of Jesse [Ref: CrosbyAH CROSBY p29]

owner of a grist mill in Centerville [Ref: CrosbyAH CROSBY p13]

enlistd as a private in Captain Lovell's Company, Freeman's Regiment. Served 28 days on a secret expedition to Tiverton, Rhode Island, in Oct 1777. Also served a few days during a threatened raid by the British at Flamouth, MA [Ref: CrosbyAH CROSBY p29]
