documents settling the estate of Simon Crosby raise some questions, given the lack of dates for some of them. The agreement of 1645 with the elders and deacons of Cambridge refers to Anne Crosby, burt also makes reference to actions to be taken by "the parents" suggesting that by this date she had already married Rev William Thompson, or would be doing so very soon. But none of the documents that mention William Thompson in connection with Anne have a date attached to them before 1651. We interpret this group of documents to indicate that the marriage took place in or about September 1645, but that the need to sell some of the land did not arise until some years later, at which time Anne petitioned the General Court [Ref: Anderson GreatMigrationII v2p236]

inventory of estate taken 15 Sep 1645?, totalled 471 pounds, 3s (against which were debts of 16 pounds, 8s 8d), of which 217 pounds was real estate. A separate undated accounting of the real estate totalled 194 pounds. [Ref: Anderson GreatMigrationII v2p233]
