The Indiculus loricatorum lists the numbers of mounted warriers to be led
by an assortment of lords in Emperor Otto II's army, dated either 981 or 983.
Otto II suffered a defeat by the Saracens at Cotrone in July 982; much could
be deduced if it were known whether the Indiculus was compiled before or after
