a descendant of the family that took its name fom the ancient Manor of Brigham, in Cumberland County, England, adjoining Scotland. To this family belong the Lords of Allerdale. [Ref: MooreWH MOORE p27]

sailed from England in the Susan and Ellen, landed at Boston and settled in Cambridge [Ref: MooreWH MOORE p27]

adherent of Rev. Thomas Shepherd, who had been preaching at Buttercrambe, a few miles north of Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, and decided to emigrate with him to New England. went to London, where they embarked Apr 18 1635 on Susan & Ellen [Ref: BrighamEE BRIGHAM p27]
