tradition that three Skinner brothers (one had been a High Sheriff) fled
to this country, one to Connecticut, one to Vermont, one to Maryland [Ref:

two Skinner emigrants from England: Thomas Skinner was an early settler at
Malden, Massachusetts, coming from Chichester, England, before 1652. Other
John Skinner was prominent in the settlement of Connecticut. Cutter 1912

might be put in possession of ye said Estate deposited it as aforesd. This
Court grant the Desire that John Skinner shall have 6#, Joseph 4#, and Richard
3# of it, they engaging to be responsible that soe much as they receive shall
