Research Notes:
Elizabeth, widow of Sir William de Douglas, sometime Earl of Atholl. Elizabeth was given the maiden name "Maxwell" in the same 17th-century memorandum [as Joan wife of William de Dacre first assigned the surname Douglas], but there is no evidence to support it, let alone any parentage for her. [Ref: William Reitwiesner SGM 7/18/1999]
