Research Notes:
1843: in company with his brother Hiram, went to Iowa and rented a farm 1 1/2 miles from Iowa City for one year [Ref: ToledoOH Biog p325]

1845: started for Wisconsin alone and on foot; when he reached Plattsville he obtained work on a farm at $10/month [Ref: ToledoOH Biog p325]

1853: purchased a farm of 80 acres on section 25, Center Twp in Wood County, Ohio [Ref: ToledoOH Biog p324]

for ten years a trustee of Township; several years served as School Director [Ref: ToledoOH Biog p325]
