Research Notes:
24 Jul 1388: he granted license to mortify the lands of Cameron to the Lady alter of Musselburgh; in this deed he styles himself Lord of Drylton, while his father witnesses it as Walter, Lord of that Ilk. This indicates that he must have married Christian Vaus, heiress of Drylton, but he may have also married the Cameron heiress, unless Christian Vaus was also a co-heiress of Cameron through her mother. John certainly used a seal quartering the arms of both Cameron and Vaus in 1384 during his father's lifetime [Ref: SP IV p333 (with corr in IX p102)]
