Research Notes:
wife of William LESLIE is usually given as Margaret, da of Sir Michael Balfourof Montquanie. SP VII p279 calls her Janet, remarking that she is usually called Margaret. She appears in 1518 as Jonet Balfour. If she were the Jonet Balfour widow of David Ramsay of Culluthy, she must have been a 2nd wife of William [Ref: CP XI p190(e)]
