only son and heir of Thomas 4th Earl of Atholl (in right of his wife) [Ref: CP I p305]

1242: having been successful in a tournament against Walter Bisset, he was burnt to death by him at Haddington [Ref: CP I p305]

no evidence has been found of his marriage, but it is not impossible that the "Lora Countess of Atholl" (who disputed the earldom in 1242 with Forflissa) may have been his wife [Ref: SP I p423]
