Castellan of Pembroke Castle [Ref: SP III p421]
claimed in Sir William Fraser's _Memorials of the Montgomeries Earls of
Eglinton_ to be father of Robert Montgomerie, the first of the Montgomeries of
Scotland. But the reasons advanced by him are very unsubstantial and without
the sanction of any valid evidence, while on the other hand, though the wife
of Arnulf is known, there is no proof that he had any family. [Ref: SP III
