1687: while constable of Ipswich, took an active part in the rebellion against the tax policy of Gov. Andros under the leadership of Appleton and Rev John Wise; arrested Sep 15 1687, arraigned on Sep 21, and sentenced to pay a fine of 15#, to give a bond of 500# for good behavior, and to be ineligible to hold office [Ref: Davis TOWNE p48]

being constable, he took part in the tax rebellion against Gov Andros, for which he was fined 15 pounds, put under a bond of 500 pounds, and to be inelligible to hold office [Ref: Threlfall 50GMCol p158]
