Research Notes:
James has a Seal that has the Echyngham coat of arms impaled with the arms of D'Akeney. Joan is no doubt a D'Akeney or Dakeney, but parents are not known [Ref: Smith ECHYNGHAM p19]

Arms of Sir James: Etchingham impaling wife's coat dimidiated - a cross between four lions rampant. From Chris Phillips - Brault, Aspilogia III: John Dakeny (d. bef 29 Mar 1300) Azure, a cross between four lions rampant or (or argent) Baldwin Dakeny (fl 1241-1269) Azure, a cross between four lions rampant or Thomas Dakeny (Norfolk) Argent, a cross between four lions rampant gules Baldwin Dakeny (Cambs) Azure, a cross between four lions rampant argent Based on the heraldry, it would appear that wife Joan was a Dakeny (d'Akeny) [Ref: Doug Smith SGM 5/23/2004-173851]
