Research Notes:
lieutenant in the army of the Revolution and a man of determined bravery. He was at the Battle of Bunker Hill, where he went the night before, and was one of the last to leave the field, yielding the ground inch by inch, and disdaining to turn his back upon the enemy. He was with Colonel Alden at the burning of Cherry Valley by the Indians; with Colonel Brooks at the surrender of Burgoyne; with General Sullivan when he went through the Indian country. His widow received a pension, in consideration of his service, of some four hundred dollars annually. [Ref: PeabodySH PEABODY p45]
