c1055: while still a young, given Norfolk, part of the earldom of East Anglia, in succession to Aelfgar who was exiled in 1055 [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p222]

1057: created Earl of East Anglia [Ref: Weir RoyalFam p35]

1059: first attests as earl, holding all of East Anglia [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p222]

1061: accompanied his brother Tostig to Rome [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p222]

1066: uncertain whether he fought at Stamfordbridge; but was certainly present at Hastings on 14 Oct and died there [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p222]
