-----
Obituary from Crawford Weekly Messenger, 31 May 1827:
DIED -- At the residence of her son, in Shenango township, on the 21st after
a long and severe illness, Mrs. Martha Mason, in the 76th year of her age.
The widow Mason (as she was known) emigrated to this western country along
with her children in the year 1797, when it was literally a wilderness,
exposed to all the hardships and difficulties incident to the settlement of a
new and uninhabited country. Her tenderness as a mother and her usefulness as
a woman will long be remembered, and her death lamented by all her friends and
acquaintances. [Ref: Wilson MASON p83]
