Obituary appeared in Marseilles Plaindealer 5 May 1904:
Al Brodbeck
Died at his home in Marseilles at 6:30 o'clock last evening. Al Brodbeck, formerly of Ottawa aged about forty five years. The funeral will be held at his late residence in Marseilles at 2:30 o'clock and will be under the auspices of the Junita Lodge No 210 I.O.O.F. of which organization he was a member. The Ottawa members of the order are requested to attend.
He leaves a wife and three daughters, Lula, Hazel, and Emma. His last sickness was of about a week's duration and terminated in typhoid pneumonia. [Ref: Ray Brodbeck 7/29/2008]
