Research Notes:
1367: granted by Edward III, at insistence of his wife, Philipe, to her bastard sister Elizabeth de Holand, twenty pounds of money annually at the Exchequer (Reference: Calendar of Patent Rolls 1367-1370) [Ref: Douglas Richardson SGM 10/12/2002-200336]

Elizabeth wife of Robert de Holand is not the same person as Elizabeth bastard sister of Queen Philippe of Hainault. Promise of a future article on this subject [WTM: Peter Stewart's response to this statement is that this isn't remotely "new" in any context] [Ref: Douglas Richardson SGM 7/11/2004-003907]

still possibly that she was a member of a family closely related to King Henry IV [Ref: Douglas Richardson SGM 7/11/2004-003907]

Care should be taken to distinguish Elizabeth wife of Robert de Holand from another contemporary Elizabeth de Holand, who was the illegitimate sister of Queen Philippe of Hainault (wife of King Edward III). The Queen's bastard sister was a nun at Stratford le Bow Abbey, and left a will dated and proved in 1375, which named no husband nor children [Ref: Richardson RoyalAnc v3p296(13)]
