1071: at his father's death, he was allowed only the title of Earl of Hereford, in place of the more extensive title his father had enjoyed [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p233]

entered a conspiracy with Ralph de Gael, who had suffered similarly on the death of his father, on the occasion of his sister's wedding to Ralph [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p233]

1075: the marriage of his sister to Ralph II de Gail, earl of Norfolk, led to the treason and forfeiture of Roger [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p488]
