This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of February one thousand eight
hundred and seventy between James Lucas of the County of Ohio State of West
Virginia and Mary Ann his wife of the first part, and James Wilson Reed of the
same county and State aforesaid of the second part, Witnesseth that the said
parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred
dollars to them in hand paid at or before the ensealing or delivery of these
presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledge have sold conveyed and
confirmed and by these presents do sell convey confirm and grant unto the said
party of the second part and his heirs forever all that lot or parcel of land
in Liberty Twp in the County of Ohio and State before mentioned and South West
of McGraw bounded on one side by a center line of the Cumberland Road and by
the lands of Thomas Maxwell decd, on the other side the Railroad Containing
one and one half acres more or less together with all hereditament and
appurtenances belonging thereto and every part parcel and all dower right
therein to have and to hold the above mentioned premises unto the said party
of the second part and to his heirs forever, and the said parties of the first
part do covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part and
his heirs against all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to
claim the same shall and will warrant and by these presents forever defend the
aforesaid premises. In witness whereof we the said parties of the first part
have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year first mentioned. James
