d.s.p.legit; heirs were a Breton nephew and a Burgundian kinsman [Ref:

Breton nephew William de Gail and another kinsman, the Burgundian Ralph
de Grancey, both claimed his inheritance. William soon died, but Rianald was
supported by William, count of Evreux and others. The result of a savage
though brief conflict established William's illegitimate son Eustache in
Breteuil. Henry I ratified the arrangement by marrying his natural daughter
