Research Notes:
Daughter of Col. Thomas Paxton, then living on the North Fork of Elkhorn Creek. Colonel Paxton moved from Bedford Co., PA, to Fayette Co, KY, in 1789. In 1776 he was a captain in the Bedford County Militia, and commanded a company in active service from Sept 12 to Nov 13, 1776. In 1794, he commanded the scouts in advance of the movements of Gen. Wayne's army that resulted in the battle of Fallen Timbers. [Ref: Helm TODD p93]
