From the Columbus Dispatch, 12/15/2003:
HOFSTETER Roy Hofsteter, age 82, of Columbus, died on Friday, December 12, 2003 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Born on August 27, 1921 in Akron, Ohio to the late Calvin and Emma Graber Hofsteter. Graduate of the Massillon-Washington High School and The Ohio State University. US Navy veteran WWII, having served for three years in the Pacific Theater of War. Former Vice-President of The State Savings Bank. Member of Christ Lutheran Church, Cat Welfare, and The Ohio State University Alumni Association. Roy is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Louella G. Bowsher Hofsteter; and his sisters, Ruth of Massillon, Ohio, and Dr. Grace of Canton, Ohio; relatives and friends. Funeral service 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday. Burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, Ohio. Those who wish, may contribute to the General Fund of Christ Lutheran Church, 2314 E. Main St., Bexley, Ohio 43209 in Roy's memory.
