Research Notes:
lived in Mansfield, CT, where he was owner of considerable land [Ref: Perley HOVEY p130]

The people of Woodstock invited Mr. Hovey to become their pastor in 1726, but he declined to do so. He and others withdrew from the church in Windham, and united with the Baptist church in Mansfield in 1745. Of this church he was elected teaching elder, and was orgained in Feb 1746.
