called Grigor Lusavorits (The Illuminator) [Ref: Settipani LGA p53]

according to the tradition, the fortunes of this family begins with Anak, Lord of Parthe, that, to please the Sassanide conqueror, accepts to return with his brother and his relative, Khosrov, King of Armenia, that he murdered. But Anak himself was massacred with all his family, with the exception of two young children, one of whom was the future Grigor Lusavorits (The Illuminator). However, versions differ. The syrian version says Khosrov was murdered by his brother, Anak. Arabic version has Gregoire as a Roman of Cappadoce, others designate him as Arsacide. Yet his descendants are designated "Souren Pahlav" [Ref: Settipani LGA p53]

after having been thrown years in a pit by the king Trdat, son of Khosrov (lately assassinated by Anak), he escapes thanks to a miracle by converting the king to Christianity, and making Armenia the second Christina state of the world. [Ref: Settipani LGA p55]
