will dated Jun 16 1676, pro Nov 14 1676. Mentioned uncle Benjamin Kimball. Henry Kimball appointed adm in Nov 1676. Will gave eldest son to Joan, wife of John Haseltine [Ref: Hoyt S&A p137]

made his uncle Benjamin Kimball his trustee and overseer in his will, but forgot to appoint an executor, so his wife's brother Henry Kimball was appointed administrator [Ref: Holman PILLSBURY p258]

Nov 14 1676: will was presented in Court, no executor appearing; administration was granted to Henry Kimball of Haverhill, to proceed as the will shows, excepting that the widow was to have her thirds. The personal property was not sufficient to pay all debts so some of his real estate had to be sold [Ref: Holman PILLSBURY p259]

June 16 1676 the last will and testament of thomas dow being of perfect memory doe here mak my last will as followeth first my desire is that all my debts may be satisfyed which I have made knowne to my unkell biniamin kimboll whom I doe desire and constitut to be my overseer first I give my eldest Sone to Joan haseltine the wif of John haseltine till he be 21 yeares of age but if she dyes before he coms to ye age of 21 yeares then her sone John haseltine shall have the remainder of his time for the satisfying of my debts. I leave my whole estate to my unkell beniamine kimboll and when my debts ar satisfyed then what remaines of my estate to remaine to my wif during her Natural life but if she marry then she to have what two men shall judg yearly payd fur by my sonn whom I make my heire of all the land that shal remaine but my wife shal have noth(ing) to doe with any of my land these to men to be chosen one by my wife, the other by my Sone or Joan Haseltine or John haseltin her Son & I doe likwise enjoine my Sone to give unto my daughter when he comes to posese this land so much as shall bejudged by two men chosen by them or if my wife be with child now when I dy to have the like only my will is that my sone shal have a doubl portion if my Children al dy without marying then what land remains to remaine one half to my wife if liveing the other halfe to my brother Steven dow and sister mary and Martha ore theire Children.
