Research Notes:
1506: given by father's will an estate in Ardleigh called Walles, where he settled [Ref: Bartlett STONE p22]

1513-34: appears numerous timeson the rools of the Manor of Bovills [Ref: Bartlett STONE p22]

Dec 14 1520: came to court and made fealty for a tenement with lands called Churchgate House, formerly of William Hunt, rendering to the lord a fine of 2s 10d. [Ref: Bartlett STONE p22]

after 1533 no record of Walter Stone has been found either in Ardleigh nor Grate Bromley, and perhaps he moved into St. Nicholas parish, Colchester, where a Walter Stone appears on a list of inhabitants swearing fidelity in 1534. [Ref: Bartlett STONE p22]
