Alice's maternity is uncertain - she was possibly a daughter of Sir John's second wife, Alice de Montfort, a likely illegitimate daugher, by Lora de Ullenhall, of Peter [or Piers] de Montfort, 3rd Baron Montfort, son of John de Montfort, 1st Baron Montfort, and Alice de la Plauche, a kinswoman of Eleanor of Castile, wife of Edward I King of England [Ref: Roberts RD900 p861]

the claim in print [RD900 vol 2 p861] that Alice Giffard, wife of Sir John Anne, is possibly the daughter of her father's [Sir John Giffard] second wife, Alice de Montfort, is easily disproven [Ref: Douglas Richardson SGM 1/31/2019-153154]
