Research Notes:
name may have been Margaret. In Apr 1351 Thomas Gray and Margaret his wife had a papal indult to choose a confessor who shall give them plenary remission at the hour of death. According to a papal dispensation, dated 7 Mar 1368, Thomas and Margaret had been married for sixteen years (i.e. married abt 1352). So it is possible that the 1351 entry in the Papal registers refer to his first wife, and that she was Margaret Ughtred [Ref: John Watson SGM 4/10/2016-060447]

apparently received the manor of Hundburton and the lands in Kexy, etc, and half the manor of Wilberfoss as maritagium[Ref: John Watson SGM 4/10/2016-060447]

as first wife of Sir Thomas GRAY, if she died without living heirs, then Sir Thomas UGHTRED (her brother and heir) could claim the lands in Yorkshire which were his sister's marigatum, but Thomas Gray needed his son's heirs to warrant. (Thus the case of 1362) Sir William Felton and Sir William and Isabel Heron presumably accepted their lability, but Salvain and the Eures did not, so Thomas Gray issued proceedings against them to force them to warrant the title [Ref: John Watson SGM 4/10/2016-060447]
