Research Notes:
soldier in Captain Joseph Gardner's company from Salem in King Philip's War. Father alludes in his will to William's having lost an arm, but does not say when it was lost. [Ref: PeabodySH PEABODY p19]

received a grant of land on account of his military services in the township called "Narragansett Number 3" later incorporated as Amherst, New Hampshire, the part in shich his land was being later set off as Milford, NH [Ref: PeabodySH PEABODY p19]
