Research Notes:
educated at Transylvania University, and studied law. He began the practice of his profession in his native state, and was a member of the Kentucky Legislature in 1815. Later he moved to Lafayette Co, IN, and was Judge of the Court of Common Pleas for many years. He served in the war of 1812. In 1857, Judge Todd presented to the Grand Lodge of masons in Kentucky the sword worn by Gen. Joseph Hamilton Daviess when he was killed in the battle of Tippecanoe, Sep 17 1811. General Daviess was Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky at the time of his death. [Ref: Helm TODD p256]
