by marriage he obtained Stoke Poges and other lands in Bucks, andwith these
and the grants which he received became wealthy and a large landowner [Ref: CP
IX p36]
Feb 18 1346/7: summoned to a great Council, but as no Commons were
summoned, this assembly is not recognized as a Parliament [Ref: CP IX p36]
1352: appointed seward of the Queen's lands [Ref: CP IX p36]
1353: Commons petitioned the King for redress for he grievous oppressions
on Monsieur Johan de Molyns, and shortly afterwards he was prosecuted by
the Queen, and apparentlyy was afraid to stand trial. Outlawed for
non-appearance Mar 14 1356/7, and, when apprehended, was lodged in Nottingham
Castle and his wife was confined in Cambridge Castle. In Sep 1359, in the
charge of William his son and three others, he was sent to join his wife at
Cambridge, where he remained a prisoner till his death. [Ref: CP IX p36]
