Research Notes:
coheir of her father [Ref: CP IX p42]
will dated 28 Feb 1486/7 [Ref: CP IX p42]
2 May 1489: commission to administer her goods granted to her daughter,
Lady Eleanor Manyngham [Ref: CP++(proposed) Moleyns 3/2/2003 (CP IX p42)]
"pretended" will dated 28 Feb 1486/7, which was not exhibited in court by the
executors [Ref: Richardson RoyalAnc v4p109]
the date of the probate of Lady Moleyns' will is not given by the editor of
Complete Peerage. The reason for this is explained by the following record
found in the Register of John Morton, Archbishop of Canterbury, 1486-1500,
Vol. 1, pg. 107:
"No. 333. Commission to Lady Eleanor Manyngham alias Hungerford, daughter
of the decease, to adminster the goods of Anne Molence, widow, intestate,
because her pretended testament was not exhibited by John Hampden and John
Chambre, chaplain, the executors named in the testament, and was not proved.
Inv. by 7 June. Lambeth, 2 May 1489." [Reference: Christopher Harper-Bill,
Register of John Morton, Archbishop of Canterbury, 1486-1500, Vol. 1
(Canterbury and York Society, vol.75) (1987), pg. 107].
We see from the above record that Anne Moleyns was deceased shortly before
2 May 1489, when administration on her estate was granted to her daughter and
heiress, Lady Eleanor Manningham. It appears her will was not proved. [Ref:
