Research Notes:
Carolyn Sims Kilgore, age 61, of Greeneville, died Thursday morning at Takoma Adventist Hospital.
She was retired from Philips Consumer Corp., now Five Rivers Electronics Inovations LLC.
She was a Methodist by faith and was a native of Sevier County.
The daughter of the late George and Maude Sims, she had lived in Greeneville for the past 40 years.
Those close to Mrs. Kilgore knew her as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Jimmy Dale Kilgore; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Teddy Clowers, of Greeneville; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Libby Kilgore, of Greeneville; grandchildren, Kelly Clowers and Nikki Kilgore; step-grandchild, Aaron Copenhaver; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie Sims and Phyllis Sims, of Sevierville; three nieces including a special devoted niece, Wilma Taylor and her spouse, Allen Taylor, of Chuckey and their children, Jason, Rodney, and Loryn Taylor; other nieces, Jamie Sims, of Sevierville and Barbara Samples, of Newport; mother-in-law, Letha Kilgore, of Newport; five sisters-in-law, Ellen Overton, of Newport, Mary Owenby, of Dandridge, Irene Woods, of Knoxville, Eva Smith, of Parrottsville, and Sible France, of Newport; and special friends, Linda Weems, Lucille Jordon, Jill Walker, Dan Walker, and Marie Bebber, all of Greeneville.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the Kiser Funeral Chapel in Greeneville with Rev. Lee Hokaj officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Greenelawn Memory Gardens.
The active pallbearers are Rodney Taylor, Jason Taylor, Mark Samples, Dan Walker, Leon Smith, and Donnie Harmon.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of Loves Memorial United Methodist Church.
The body will remain at Kiser Funeral Home throughout the services.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday preceding the funeral service. Family and friends are asked to meet at Kiser Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
