held Winfrith-Newburgh in Dorset by chamberlain service in the time of
Henry I [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p615]
granted two fees at Wollaston, Northamptonshire, in the demesne of Anselm
of Chocques, whose honour was in the king's hands abt 1128. The fees continued
to be recognized as part of the barony of Chokes, but were not held directly
of Anselm's eventual heir, the advocate of Bethune [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p615]
gave the church of Wollaston to the abbey of St Mary de La Pre,
Northampton, confirmed by Hugh de Novoburgo [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p615]
