ancestor of the Habsburgs; seems now generally accepted [Ref: Evans Habsburgs p132]

parentage uncertain; possibly son of Leuderic, son of Erchonald, major dominis and kinsman of King Dagobert I through his mother. If so, then Erchonald likely was son of Garnier, major domus, by Berthe, daughter of King Clotaire II by Bertethrud [Ref: Evans Habsburgs p132]

another possibility is that he was son of Duke Adalric of Dijon, son of Duke Amalgar of Dijon by Aquilina, daughter of Duke Wandelin of Besancon by Flavia. Flavia might have belonged to the great aristocratic family of the Syagrii [Ref: Evans Habsburgs p132]
