Research Notes:
Obituary from the Sterling Journal-Advocate: Funeral services for Clarence M. Bunning, 65, long time resident of Illif who died Tuesday, April 13, 1971 at Logan County Hospital will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Maynard Lund officiating.
Mr. Bunning, a resident farmer was born August 10, 1905 at Deshler, Nebraska to William and Hilma (Peterson) Bunning. He was married to Verna Monroe on December 26, 1944 at Roswell, New Mexico. He came to Colorado with his parents in 1909 and received his schooling in Illif. He served in the infantry during World War ll and is a member of the Protestant Faith.
Survivors include his widow, Vera Bunning of Illif; three brothers, Wallace and Leonard Bunning, both of Sterling and Frank Bunning of Commerce City, and one sister, Gladys Bunning of Sterling. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. [Ref: Ray Brodbeck 7/29/2008]
