Research Notes:
Obituary from the Ottawa Free Trader: Clifford L. Loomis 51 of 116 Prairie Street, died at 6:55 A.M. today in Ryburn-King Hospital where he had been a patient for a day. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 Thursday at the Hulse Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 tonight. Dr. C.W. McClelland will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. The family has asked that flowers be omitted and contributions made instead to the Presbyterian Church fund.
Born in Putnam, Illinois, September 3, 1903, Mr. Loomis was the son of Howard and Grace Sopher Loomis. He was married June 4, 1927 to Winnifred Latimer of Marseilles. He was a graduate of Ottawa High School. Mr. Loomis was a storekeeper for the Ottawa Silica Company. Fraternally, he was a member of the Ottawa Lodge of Masons, the Shabona Chapter of the Royal Arch Masons and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his widow and two sons, Richard and Alan of Ottawa. His parents and a brother are deceased. [Ref: Ray Brodbeck 7/29/2008]
