Obituary from the Ottawa Free Trader:
Armour Danielson 86, Marseilles, died today at Rivershores Nursing Home in Marseilles. Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Thursday at the Stavanger Lutheran Church with Rev. Raymond Hellener officiating. Burial will be in Stavanger Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Osborne- Pfeffer Funeral Home.
Mr. Danielson was born October 31, 1897 in Nettle Creek Township, to Dan and Betty (Markeson) Danielson. He married Edith Bentley on October 19, 1922 in Ottawa. He was a lifelong resident of Miller Township where he farmed. He attended Miller Township rural schools and graduated from Pleasant View Luther College in Ottawa. He was instrumental in the formation and construction of the Milton Pope School and served as its president for 14 years.
He was also a charter member of the Board of Directors of Community State Bank of Seneca where he served for 31 years. He was a member of the Stavanger Lutheran Church and the LaSalle County Farm Bureau, serving as its treasurer.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Donald of Spring, Texas, Roger and Gerald, both of Miller Township; on daughter, Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Hinshaw of Hudson, Illinois, 16 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and one grandson. [Ref: Ray Brodbeck 7/29/2008]
