Obituary appeared 13 Apr 1992:
Funeral services for Oscar Locke, 91 of Kingfisher, father of Bill Ray and
Donald Ray of Edmond, will be at 10:30 A.M.. Thursday at the First Christian
Church in Kingfisher. He died Sunday, April 12, 1992 in Kingfisher. Burial
under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service, will be at Evergreen Cemetery
in Minco.
Born September 14, 19000 in Lynchburg, Tennessee, he married Esther Barber
Ray in April of 1932. He moved to Minco in 1904 and worked for the telephone
company of Kingfisher from 1925 to 1942. He served in the Navy in World War l
and with the Seabee in World War ll. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in
1966. He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American
Legion in Edmond.
He was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters, one brother, two
children and two grandsons. Survivors include his sons, a daughter Peggy Trent
of Kingfisher; one sister, Wilma Locke of Perry; two brothers, Nathan Locke
and Robin Locke both of Minco; three grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Masonic Lodge or the
